From baking cakes to battling cyber threats.
A chance encounter with a podcast ignited Faith Stratton’s passion for cybersecurity. "I listened to a podcast called The Lazarus Heist about state-sponsored APTs, and I was hooked!" she recalls. This newfound interest led her to pivot from her previous career as a cake baker to joining the cybersecurity field.
At Huntress, Faith is a versatile Security Operations Center (SOC) member, taking on any case that comes her way. She spends significant time working in the Microsoft 365 (M365) space, leveraging her skills to protect clients across a wide range of threats. "The number of endpoints that we're installed on means we see so much and on such a big scale," she says. "You get exposed to a lot, and it means you're constantly on a learning fast-track, which is so fascinating."
Faith holds a degree in Japanese and International Law and is a fully qualified chef, showcasing her diverse background and multifaceted talents. Her unique journey from the culinary arts to cybersecurity underscores her adaptability and eagerness to embrace new challenges.
Her favorite cybersecurity tip is simple and crucial: "If you can enable MFA, do it... please."
Outside of work, Faith enjoys looking after her plants, both indoor and outdoor. She spends a lot of time crocheting, sometimes knitting, and occasionally sewing. A lover of languages, she also makes time to take in both Japanese and English literature.
