G’Day and Kia Ora,

(Yep, you guessed it!)

Let me introduce myself. I'm Reece, Regional Director of Huntress ANZ, located in Sydney, and I’m incredibly excited to announce the official introduction of Huntress' cybersecurity solutions in Australia and New Zealand!

A Bigger Team of Rockstars!

Let me be clear though, we’ve had a team of A+ players in the region for a while.

Our SOC and Product Support teams have been holding it down. Not only the support infrastructure for partners in ANZ, but a key piece of the puzzle in our 24/7 Managed EDR solution

We’re not messing with those superstars. Those teams will continue to grow and help our partners in the fight against hackers. At the same time, we’re building out our partner-facing teams including Account Executives, Sales Engineers and Account Managers. Local resources to support local partners.

Who likes a 2am call with the US!? Neither do I.

Why Australia and New Zealand?

Although we’re only launching officially this year, we have well over one hundred Huntress partners already taking the fight to hackers. We want to make sure we’re aligned with our partners to protect small-to-medium businesses (SMBs) in the region, who represent over 99% of all businesses in Australia and New Zealand.

Cyberattacks are becoming commonplace, and due to the high-profile incidents we saw last year, SMBs in ANZ are becoming more aware of the risks and the need to think seriously about their security.

Rightly so, as according to the ACSC, 43% of all cybercrime in Australia is directed at SMBs. This provides a great opportunity for MSPs to help increase their overall security posture.

Getting hit by a cyberattack sucks. And SMBs get hurt the most. 20-199 seat companies in Australia get hit with an average AUD $88,407 of financial loss per cyberattack. New Zealanders got hit with NZD $9M in financial losses in Q3 2022 alone.

That doesn’t sit well with us. We need to work closely with the MSP community to protect SMBs across Australia and New Zealand.

What Can We Expect From Huntress in ANZ?

My role as Regional Director is to ensure we continue doing all the good stuff we’re known for in the MSP community, and amplify that within the region.

We’ll deliver content that educates and levels up the MSP community in ANZ. We’ll enable partners to have better conversations with their customers on the threat landscape and the mitigation strategies they can deliver. We’ll help partners build and sell profitable security offerings that they can scale.

And together we’ll have some fun along the way.

But most importantly, our team of rockstars will continue to help our partners sleep easier at night.

Speaking of which, let’s introduce you to some of them:

Matthew Brennan

Matthew Brennan, Detection Engineer R&D

Matthew’s research on how to use Ghidra for understanding Gootloader, for example, has helped our global ThreatOps team make quick work of this malware when they come across it. He even got a shout-out from the NSA Cybersecurity Director here!

You’re a wizard, Matthew.

Murray Beech-1

Murray Beech, Product Support Specialist

Murray brings vast experience dealing with stakeholders in a multitude of different environments, organisational levels and industries. This helps him ensure partners get what they need, quickly, keeping our CSAT sky-high!

Vishal Thakur

Vishal Thakur, Manager Threat Operations Centre AU

Vish has been in this space for many years, specialising in Incident Response, Emerging Threats, Malware Analysis and Research. He’s even presented his research and ran workshops at international conferences like BlackHat, FIRST and SANS DFIR Summit. Vish also founded two of the premier cybersecurity events in Sydney; Hack.Sydney and BSides Sydney.

Kind of a big deal.

Knowing you have this team behind you is probably a good reason to go and have a beer. In fact, come and join us at one of our upcoming Breaches & Brews events - our first event in Sydney was an absolute blast!

Lastly, if you ever want to chat, provide feedback or go for a coffee, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Cheers!
